Seventh Win of the Most Prestigious Award for Belfast Landscapers

Seventh Win of the Most Prestigious Award for Belfast Landscapers
Post date: 13 Dec, 2016

A private garden in Co Fermanagh has landed Belfast based Cameron Landscapes, the most prestigious award in the landscaping industry for the seventh time.

Held every year, the Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI) awards are designed to celebrate the industry’s commitment to maintaining and improving standards within the landscape sector. With categories to recognise not only residential and commercial projects, but also sports fields, contractors were able to submit their entries for this year’s awards from 6th June – 8th July.

Unlike the other categories, the winner of the prestigious ‘Bog Oak Trophy’ is not announced until during the award ceremony itself. This year, the awards were held at Titanic Belfast on 11th November. Entrants, including the winner, are deliberately kept in suspense of who will win the award, which aims to recognise the best overall entry, irrespective of whether it’s a residential or commercial project.

Presented by guest of honour, Norman Fulton, the ‘Bog Oak Trophy’ is no stranger to the family run business. Founded over 40 years ago, Cameron Landscapes have already scooped the award an impressive six times, making this year their seventh win. With their first win dating back over 30 years ago, Cameron Landscapes have not only maintained their quality workmanship but have grown into a garden centre, complete with their own café and deli.

The winning garden incorporated a variety of CED Stone Group products, including Blue Grey Granite Edging, Blue Grey Granite Paving, Blue Grey Granite Bullnosed Steps, Silver Grey Granite Cropped Setts, Black Basalt Cropped Setts, CEDAdrive, Silver Grey Granite Aggregate and Scottish Beach Cobbles – not insignificant for a first-time order.

“Congratulations to Geoff and his team on their success at the ALCI awards and for their Bog Oak Trophy win,” says James Kane, Omagh depot manager. “The beauty of our products is truly brought to life through excellent workmanship and quality design; the winning garden being a perfect example. It has been an absolute pleasure to supply and work with Cameron Landscapes, who have fast become valued, regular customers. We look forward to working with them again in the near future to create many more beautiful projects.”

Cameron Landscapes have since become regular CED customers and have gone on to develop a display area at their garden centre, showcasing all of CED Stone Group’s natural stone and porcelain paving. The centre is situated at 148 Ballylesson Road, Belfast, BT8 8JU and is open seven days a week.
