How To Use Boulders: ‘The Viking Cruises Nordic Lifestyle Garden’ At RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

‘It can be difficult to keep a boulder arrangement looking natural – the arrangement won’t look right if they are just randomly placed. Look at the boulders carefully as you are choosing them – make sure they are going to be the right shape for the space they will be sitting in. Visitors to RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show will be treated to an urban eco-garden with a difference – one that looks like a green forest glade, that you can eat!

The London Glades show garden has been designed to appear like a beautiful oasis on the edge of a peaceful forest, complete with CED-donated boulders, wild flowers, trees, shrubs and perennials. A clever twist means, despite the garden looking nothing like a traditional ‘allotment’, much of the garden is edible.

Coming Up Roses: CED Donates to the ‘Cuprinol Kaleidoscope of Colour’ Rose Garden at Bloom in Dublin

Visitors to Bloom in Dublin can expect a feast for the senses this weekend when they visit the ‘Cuprinol Kaleidoscope of Colour’ garden, which features in the medium sized garden category at Bloom. The conceptual garden features a contemporary take on the traditional and centuries old rose garden. Post show, the garden will be donated to the Enable Ireland children’s service in Jigginstown, Co Kildare, which supports over 1,000 children with disabilities.

Known for his breath-taking and dramatic sculptures made from brass, copper, bronze, stainless steel and stone, David Harber’s award-winning creations will once again be on display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, in a beautifully designed stand along the prominent Main Avenue.

As part of the design, CED will be supplying rustic TIER stone wall cladding which will be used as the dramatic backdrop for the garden and the sculptures.

CED Stone Group have been sponsoring show gardens at the RHS Flower Shows for over 27 years, including RHS Chelsea, RHS Hampton Court, RHS Tatton Park, RHS Malvern and RHS Cardiff.

We had the privilege of supporting 12 show gardens at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and the APL Trade Stand, which saw a collaboration of the association’s members.

With designs ranging from Japanese to a uniformed Charleston garden to the wilderness of Machu Picchu and the Yorkshire Dales, a vast variety of our products and services were clearly on show.

‘Immerse’ Yourself at RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Leading horticulture charity Perennial are teaming up with designer Cherry Carmen from Cherry Blossom Garden and contractors Living Landscapes for their ‘Immerse’ garden at this year’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Once she gained her RHS qualifications, Cherry established Cherry Blossom Gardens, with the ‘Immerse’ garden being her first solo show garden project. Bringing their experience of show gardens to the build are contractors Living Landscapes who, since 2013, have won five silver-gilt medals and a People’s Choice Award.

Witan Investment Trust PLC are a global equity investment trust and have a long history of involvement with supporting the RHS and RHS gardens.

Their most recent project, which is due to open in Spring 2017, is the ‘Global Growth Vegetable Garden’ project at RHS Hyde Hall, Essex. This innovative garden will showcase fruit and vegetables from around the world (which can be grown in most parts of the UK), challenging the image of a conventional kitchen garden.

The ‘All The World’s a Stage’ garden, designed by Dawn Parke of Lunaria Landscapes, Cho hee Song, Jasper Kaessmann and Manuel Wehrle, is inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most frequently quoted passages.

As the phrase that begins a monologue from Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’, a pastoral comedy believed to have been written in 1599, the world is compared to a stage and life to a play, cataloguing the seven stages of a man’s life.

Great Gardens of the USA: The Oregon Garden

Last year, garden designer, Sadie May Stowell designed two gardens for Brand USA at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, where she won a bronze and a silver medal. This year sees her returning with three gardens on behalf of Brand USA, all three of which CED Stone Group are excited to be supplying.

Originally trained in fine arts, Sadie studied Garden Design at Pershore College of Horticulture, going on to qualify to post-graduate level in Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire. However, it wasn’t until being announced as the overall winner of Channel 4’s national garden design competition, ‘The Great Garden Challenge’, that Sadie received local and national acclaim.
