The clay acts as a binder, and helps to form an effective, very stable surface when Hoggin is compacted. This makes it only slightly permeable, allowing most rainfall to run off the surface, making it a great material to use for footpaths. Product Description Consisting of selected limestone graded from 14mm to fine particles, this product has a high content of naturally occurring marl which results in exceptional self-binding properties and a non-porous surface. Because Golden Amber Footpath Gravel is limestone based, it can affect the pH levels in the soil. Red The first of our CEDEC footpath gravels to be developed for Canary Wharf in 1990, this is an attractive mixture of grey and pink granites. Gold Produced from the same quarry as our Golden Quartzite Aggregate, this is a golden yellow footpath gravel that will bring a warm, traditional look to your outdoor space. Silver A silvery-grey granite with a fantastic neutral shade, CEDEC Silver allows for a more contemporary aesthetic, and is often a popular choice for city and urban paths. Product Description CEDEC Footpath Gravels form a firm but porous structure that retains moisture while allowing any excess water to flow through. CEDEC’s combination of different graded aggregates create a firm, packed surface with approx. 25% compaction, which is still porous and retains moisture due to its reduced clay content. Made from granite or quartzite, CEDEC is tree-friendly and does not affect the soil’s pH balance. After compaction‚ coverage of CEDEC footpath gravel‚ is approximately 10m² per tonne at 50mm thick‚ compaction being about 25%. So to compact to 50mm an initial non-compacted layer of 65mm is required. Full laying instructions are available on our website.
