It was recognised by the Romans during the bronze age for it’s brilliant qualities. White Calcite veins are a common feature in Purbeck Limestone which run in various directions throughout the stone. These rockery pieces can be quite blocky and are great for building up into a wall effect to look like a natural outcrop. Like a sandstone, Purbeck will weather quickly, resulting in an authentic aged look. Weathered Limestone Sizes (mm) Product Description Weathered Limestone comes from the top surface of a working aggregate quarry. Popular with landscape designers due to its eroded, weathered look, Weathered Limestone is grey in colour. Usually with distinctive ‘layers’ running linear in the same direction, this can be a great material to stack and create height with. This weather-worn limestone bestows a timeless quality, instantly giving the appearance of having lain exposed to the elements for hundreds of years. An easy stone to design with, just keep the stone’s water lines horizontal with the ground and a very natural rockery can be effortlessly created. Smokey Grey Limestone Sizes (mm) Product Description This wonderful rockery stone sourced from the North of Scotland has chunky sides and angles, which will bring a bold and edgy feel to your outdoor scheme.
