Exceptionally tough and durable, granite has been used in the UK for kerbstones for hundreds of years and is the perfect material to use for a long lasting and aesthetic finish. Road kerbs serve a number of purposes: • Retain carriageway edges to prevent loss of the structural integrity • Act as barriers between road traffic‚ pedestrians or verges • Provide physical ‘checks’ to prevent vehicles leaving the carriageway • Form channels to help drain away surface water We hold a large quantity and range of standard kerb sizes in stock at all times, but granite kerbs can also be made to order in any size depending on your requirements, with a small edge rounding‚ chamfers, bullnosing, flame-textured surface or indeed many other finishes. Made to order kerbs can normally be supplied to any specification within no more than 8 -10 weeks. We are also able to source reclaimed kerbing for an aged and rustic look – take a look at page 82 for more information.
