Gold Medal Winner & Best Small Garden
“Food 4 Thought” is a modern courtyard garden themed on the increasingly diverse range of crops grown in Kent. This garden represents the past, present and the possible future of farmed crops and aims to draw attention to the issues of ‘food miles’, climate change and the importance of water as a commodity.
The garden takes on a contemporary setting with a cantilevered outdoor dining table and ribbons of strawberries grown vertically. In addition to traditional Kent-grown crops, a Mediterranean palette has also been incorporated to highlight the possible adaptation of the selected farming crops due to global warming.
