CED Stone Inspiring Beautiful Landscapes

CPD's and Training Days

Stone is truly amazing. Strong and diverse, it takes millions of years to form and has been used by mankind since the very beginning. It's our goal to inspire others and share our passion for natural stone, and we know that starts with education.

We successfully run training events for anyone who'd like one – including educational tours for students, development days for garden designers and CPD's for contractors and architects. Our founder Michael Heap has been passing on his knowledge and expertise since he founded the company in 1978. Long before we had PowerPoint and iPads, he would use picture slides to pass on his knowledge to clients and students!

Our expert team will draw on their extensive natural stone knowledge and experience to ensure that your group enjoys an interesting day and leave feeling well-informed. We're happy to tailor the event so that we're covering topics that are relevant to your group's specific requirements.

We can provide presentations and demonstrations based on a number of different hard landscaping subjects, including:

  • Stone selection and specification for both domestic and commercial applications
  • Pros and cons of different paving construction methods in accordance with BS Standards
  • Causes of common paving problems and stone maintenance
  • Understanding the different geological backgrounds of stone and how it's quarried
  • Stone testing – how it's tested, why it's tested and what results to look out for
  • Ethical trading and social issues within the hard landscaping industry

We'll arrange everything for you, from sending invitations and information packs to greeting attendees and catering. We're pretty flexible and the events can be held from any of our six nationwide depot locations, or from a venue of your own choosing.
