Purbeck Limestone Rockery

Purbeck is a light grey and cream limestone formed over 140-150 million years ago during the Late Jurassic/Early Cretaceous period while dinosaurs were still roaming the land and was recognised by the Romans during the bronze age for it's brilliant qualities. White Calcite veins are a common feature in Purbeck Limestone which run in various directions throughout the stone. These rockery pieces can be quite blocky and are great for building up into a wall effect to look like a natural outcrop. Like a sandstone, Purbeck will weather quickly, resulting in an authentic aged look.
