Details
The garden explores how resident-friendly public spaces can support strong communities, drawing inspiration from Incheon, a Korean city bordered by mudflats and forests.
Responding to land reclamation and development, the design reflects shared ownership of space and coexistence with nature, shown through resilient planting emerging between areas of concrete. Architectural forms are gradually softened and enveloped by surrounding woodland planting.
The garden features plants native to Korea or typical of local woodlands, including Cornus kousa, Rhododendron, Sorbaria sorbifolia and Astilbe rubra. CED Stone supplied the boulders, aggregate and cobbles used throughout the garden.
