As climate change reshapes our gardens, this design explores how planting and layout can respond to increasingly extreme conditions. It reflects the contrast between hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, demonstrating how thoughtful design can work in harmony with both.
The garden balances these opposing environments to create a space that is both functional and visually engaging, while looking ahead to the challenges of a changing climate.
Alpine plants are showcased within a dramatic arrangement of stone troughs and a crevice garden, guiding visitors down towards cascading water and into a wetter, bog-like landscape. The designer took various stone from CED to make up the crazy paving pathway including Sandstone paving, Paddlestones and Silver Grey Granite Aggregate for scree.
