Designed by Allon Hoskin and Robert Beaudin, the Pathway Garden is inspired by the work of the Pathway charity, which supports people out of homelessness. Its design features interconnecting spaces with an open feel and no dead ends, symbolising the possibility of moving forward. Boulders intersect the first section of path, representing the obstacles individuals often face on their journey toward a healthier and more secure life. Many of these boulders—including a specially crafted bird bath—were provided by Claire Forth from the West Thurrock Depot in collaboration with Modular Garden Limited, the project’s contractors.

The Pathway Garden is built entirely from upcycled materials. The bench is carved from a fallen tree trunk, while a mycelium wall, created using recycled waste from previous RHS Shows, reflects the natural networks below the ground. This symbolism echoes how individuals supported back into stable housing often go on to help others, strengthening communities and fostering lasting positive change.

After the Show, the garden will be relocated to the Shekinah Centre in Plymouth, a community-based day centre dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness.
