Details:
This garden was designed in collaboration with Derby College and the Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust to showcase the Bonsall Field Barn Restoration Project. At its heart is a restored field barn set within a landscape inspired by the Peak District village of Bonsall. Traditional dry stone walling reflects local craftsmanship, while a limestone path symbolises the Limestone Way. The garden is predominantly planted with UK native species, arranged around a dew pond and a representation of a covered, disused lead mine shaft featuring ‘T’Owd Man of Bonsall’. Planting reflects the local limestone landscape, incorporating a wildflower meadow alongside ornamental species suited to calcareous conditions.
