CED Stone Inspiring Beautiful Landscapes

Yellow Granite Paving & Temple Setts

Set within the rolling landscape of Newtownstewart, this private property required an exterior scheme that balanced contemporary detailing with a timeless, rural character. The brief called for a robust driveway solution capable of handling daily use, while creating refined outdoor living spaces that connect seamlessly to the house.

A close collaboration between Gerard Morris and CED Stone ensured material choices, proportions, and detailing worked together cohesively across the site.

The large driveway was designed as both a functional arrival space and a strong visual statement. Barley Quartz aggregate laid in ECCOgravel stabilisation system was used to deliver durability, permeability, and a warm, natural tone that sits comfortably within the surrounding landscape.

A mix of temple setts was used extensively throughout the project to bring structure and craftsmanship to the hardscape. These setts:

  • Frame the driveway edges with crisp definition

  • Create a striking turning circle feature that anchors the approach

  • Form a charming courtyard area, offering contrast against the gravel surfaces

The interplay between the smooth aggregates and the textured stone setts introduces rhythm and visual layering across the design.

For the patio spaces, yellow granite paving was chosen to introduce warmth and elegance. Its natural colouring complements both the gravel driveway and the architectural tones of the house, creating a cohesive flow between hard surfaces.

The patios provide practical, low-maintenance outdoor areas ideal for entertaining or quiet relaxation, while still feeling firmly rooted in the landscape.

At the front door, matching yellow granite bullnose steps deliver a polished and welcoming transition into the home. The bullnose detailing softens the stone visually and physically, adding a sense of craftsmanship and quality that sets the tone from the very first step.
