This garden explores themes of communication and harmony, expressed through a carefully considered composition of stone and planting. Stones are used in distinctive shapes and arrangements, designed to visually and spatially interact with the plants. CED Stone supplied a range of materials for the garden, including Reclaimed Stone, Cobbles and Silver Grey Granite Aggregate, which help unify the design.

Subtle changes in level create depth and movement through the space, with the layout influenced by the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ikebana, specifically the Ikenobo School, which emphasises balance, rhythm and bringing plants to life.

The planting palette draws inspiration from Japanese satoyama landscapes, featuring species such as Acer palmatum, Enkianthus perulatus, Iris, Sedum, Hornbeam and Pachysandra terminalis, reinforcing the garden’s sense of calm and connection with nature.
