Encouraging A Passion For Learning: Supporting Peter Donegan’s RHS Chelsea ‘SodShow’ Podcast Episode
Post date: 19 Jun, 2018
We are thrilled to be supporting horticulturist Peter Donegan and his weekly gardening podcast show, ‘The SodShow’, by sponsoring a mini-series of RHS Chelsea episodes.
The award-winning garden designer has been producing ‘The SodShow’ since 2011, giving up his own time to bring free and informative content to avid listeners every week. Now a highly popular podcast show, ‘The SodShow’ has grown and grown, with listeners tuning in to hear interviews with some of the biggest names in the garden design industry.
‘The SodShow’ was intended on being a hobby for Peter, and producing the episodes every week requires both personal time and money. Not feeling comfortable with the idea of crowd-funding or filling his episodes with advert breaks, Peter effectively funds the series himself.
Earlier this year, we happened to be catching up with the latest ‘SodShow’ episode which featured Kate Gould. Among other things, they talked about her design for the Royal Ascot Spring Show garden, which we were delighted to donate our EMPEROR Porcelain Paving Country Range in Oyster – find out more about her garden here.
We realised that ‘The SodShow’ pretty much embodies everything that we value as a company. Every week, Peter delivers valuable knowledge because of the passion he has for the job he does. The episodes encourage and inspire people to create beautiful landscapes. They educate, inform and support, and are a great resource for a range of people from experienced designers to budding students. We got in touch with Peter and we told him that we wanted to help.
The RHS Chelsea episodes are to be released over the next few months. The first one is now available to listen to, with Peter interviewing the brilliant designer Jonathan Snow on his Trailfinders South African Wine Estate Garden. Our team from the Scotland Depot in Castlecary worked with Jonathan to help him replicate the mountains of the South African landscape. You can take a listen to the podcast here.
If you are planning on designing a garden for a flower show or event and would like to discuss the possibility of using hard landscaping products from CED Stone Landscape, then please do contact us and we will do our best to support your project.
