CED Stone Group at Bord Bia Bloom 2026: Supplying Materials for Inspiring Garden Design

Post date: 27 May, 2026

Tomorrow is opening day at Bord Bia Bloom, Ireland's largest garden festival! Celebrating their 20th year Bord Bia Bloom brings together some of the most inspiring garden designers, landscapers, growers and suppliers to celebrate the very best in Irish horticulture and outdoor living. The event has become one of the most anticipated dates in the gardening and landscape calendar and this year CED Stone Group is proud to be supplying materials to three standout show gardens.

Nature in Balance – Designed by Linda McKeown

Nature in Balance celebrates the value of organic farming practices that work in harmony with the environment, protecting soil health, water systems and biodiversity while producing nutritious, low-carbon food.

Soft pasture planting sweeps through the space, enclosing a contemporary rustic farmyard designed as a welcoming social space. Natural materials and traditional stonework help create a strong connection to the rural environment and farming heritage.

At the heart of the garden, a slim-profile pergola shelters a communal farmyard table dressed with locally produced food, herbs and vegetables. Surrounding planting transitions naturally from open pasture into pollinator-friendly planting that encourages biodiversity.

A traditional stone cattle drinker introduces a calming water element to the garden, providing a habitat and water source for wildlife.

CED Stone have supplied Schellevis elements for the garden including large format slabs which create clean visual lines and generous movement through the space. The use of Schellevis concrete elements introduces a refined architectural character to the garden. Known for their distinctive texture and understated appearance, Schellevis products work particularly well within contemporary garden design, blending strength and simplicity with a natural aesthetic.

Rooted in Resilience – Designed by David Negus

Rooted in Resilience is a symbolic garden inspired by the emotional and physical experiences of those living with multiple myeloma, a rare and incurable blood cancer. The garden takes visitors on a journey through spaces that reflect diagnosis, treatment, recovery and ongoing resilience, while allowing each person to experience the landscape in their own way.

Visitors enter through a narrow, hospital-inspired corridor that opens into a waiting-room area. From here, one route leads into a warm and welcoming social space celebrating connection, companionship and support, while another guides visitors through a woodland setting towards a sculptural 'blood-drop pod'. A further pathway leads into a remission garden and quiet reflection pool.

Carefully considered changes in planting, texture, materials and light help shape the movement through the garden. To support the design, CED Stone Group supplied a variety of natural landscaping materials including:

Together, these materials introduce warmth, texture and natural character throughout the garden.

The 20th Edition Bloom Gallery Garden – Designed by Maeve O'Neill

Created to celebrate 20 years of Bord Bia Bloom, The 20th Edition Bloom Gallery Garden is Inspired by the concept of an urban pocket park. The garden has been designed as a calm and contemplative environment where planting, sculpture, seating and landscape design come together to celebrate Ireland’s thriving garden community.

Visitors are encouraged to walk through the space, discovering gallery walls displaying iconic imagery from previous Show Gardens alongside stories from the designers, judges and teams who have helped shape Bloom over the past twenty years.

Adding further interest, the garden also features a curated collection of 20 sculptures from The Kildare Gallery.

The project is a collaborative effort between Maeve O'Neill, Mark Mohan, Kieran Dunne, Jody Judge, Matt Lohan, and Ruth Liddle and Ken Folan.

To complement the contemporary yet timeless design, CED Stone Group supplied CEDEC Bronze Footpath Gravel and Schellevis paving elements. The warm bronze tones of the CEDEC gravel introduce texture, softness and natural warmth throughout the garden, contrasting beautifully against the crisp contemporary lines of the Schellevis paving.

As one of the leading suppliers of natural stone and hard landscaping materials, CED Stone Group is proud to support designers bringing ambitious and meaningful gardens to life at Bord Bia Bloom.
